International Men’s Health Week is celebrated mid June every year to put a focus on the importance of men’s health.
Not just physical health but also men’s mental health and emotional wellbeing and what needs to be done to improve this.
TrackSAFE caught up with our rail teammate, mental health advocate Joel Thompson to chat about the importance our physical and mental fitness. Joel is a proud Ngiyampaa man from Ivanhoe, NSW. Before joining rail’s THEE Group, Joel was a professional athlete for 14 years, playing played 254 professional games in the NRL and in the Super League for the Canberra Raiders, St George Illawarra Dragons, Manly Sea Eagles and St Helens R.F.C.
Joel is keen to help breakdown stigmas associated with mental health, encouraging open and honest conversations.
