Webinar: Adjusting to retirement & other life changes (16 June 2026)

Retirement, in particular, represents a major life transition that can bring both anticipated and unexpected challenges. For many people, especially men, retirement can evoke feelings of grief and loss. This might include the loss of a career, a structured routine, professional identity, physical abilities, and workplace friendships. These experiences can leave individuals feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to move forward. Without the right knowledge and tools, it can be difficult to cope with these changes or support others effectively.

The Australasian Railway Association reports 35 per cent of the Australian rail workforce will retire by 2035. More than a third of the entire rail workforce is aged over 50 years, and one in 10 aged over 60.

On Tuesday 16 June we’re hosting a webinar focused on understanding and navigating the challenges of retirement. The webinar provides insights into the emotional and psychological impacts of this life stage, practical strategies for building resilience and finding new purpose, and tools for coping in both your personal and professional life.
