The TrackSAFE Education program is designed to empower school students to improve their own and others’ safety around trains and train tracks. The campaign believes that young people, as active citizens, are the key to rail safety – both now and in their future lives as adults.
This rail safety education initiative brings train and track safety into the classroom, using student-centred learning activities that are aligned with a variety of Australian Curriculum Learning Areas. The TrackSAFE Education website enables schools, teachers, parents, community members and rail staff to be a part of the track safety solution; part of a whole school approach.
We promote strengths-based rail safety education, with the long term vision that quality education accompanied by other initiatives will prevent accidents, and trauma relating to accidents, on our train network. www.tracksafeeducation.com.au
