‘One less’ Yellow Tie Dress raises money for TrackSAFE
Last night the TrackSAFE Foundation received a $2000 donation to support ongoing work in rail safety and suicide prevention. The donation was the result of a silent auction undertaken at the longstanding RTAA Yellow Tie Dinner in Sydney as part of the AusRAIL Plus event.
Receiving the donation last night Executive Director Naomi Frauenfelder highlighted the range of projects occurring across TrackSAFE priority areas that this amount would support.
“Without the ongoing support from the rail industry and sponsors the work of the TrackSAFE Foundation would not be possible. What this donation represents is the continued involvement of individuals and organisations in the mission of TrackSAFE to reduce the number of incidents on our rail network and the associated trauma for all those involved in responding to these.”
The silent auction was for the ‘One Less’ Yellow Dress the brain child and masterwork of Erika Barnes. For the past two years Erika has collected yellow ties from across Australia to turn in to the ‘One Less’ Dress to raise awareness and funds to support the work of TrackSAFE.
“Wouldn’t it be great if we have one less incident, one less accident, one less injury, one less fatality” explained Mrs Barnes.
Won by the team from JMDR, the new owners let last night’s audience know that it would be going “straight to the pool room”.
